Padala Suryakantam W/o.Veera Raju, Age - 92, Dulla, Mandapeta, East Godavari Dt., A.P. Her husband, Mr. Veera Raju was well known master-weaver and he produced famous handloom sarees with beautiful quality and designs. He has three sisters and he gave financial support to the families of his sisters, after their marriages also. Veera Raju and Surya Kantam led ideal family life and both were philanthropists. Unfortunately, they have no children. During the course of time, they sustained heavy losses in business. Veera Raju spent money lavishly when he was doing business. This is also one of the reasons for their downfall. They sold all the properties and house too. In the meanwhile Veera Raju passed away due to ill-health leaving her alone. And then she migrated along with her close relations to Prakasam District for livelihood. Some of her relatives approached us to admit her in the home. While enquiring about her by our committee members, we noticed that she was unable to meet her personal needs at the age of 84 years. Then we brought her home and taking care of her for the last 8 years. Now she got mental disorder and cannot recognise even previously wellknown people properly. |

K. Natesan S/o. Karpaiah, age - 74, Chirala C.C.S. Mills Colony, Desaipet Panchayat, Jandrapet Post, Vetapalem Mandal, Prakasam Dt., A.P.
During British times, many Indians were taken abroad as indentured labour and many Tamilians were taken to Sri Lanka. After Independence, many of them wanted to
return to India. Added to this, owing to the ethnic situation in Sri Lanka, many of them were brought back by Government of India and Mr. Natesan is one of
the many repatriates who were rehabilitated in this area. They were provided housing and employment in and around this area. Upon his return to India,
Mr. Natesan was employed in the Chirala Cooperative Spinning Mill. He worked there for about 10 years. After some time, the mill was closed due to losses. During that time, Mr. Natesan also lost his wife. They had no children. After working as daily labouror here and there for a long time, Mr. Natesan's health deteriorated. He is staying in the Ashramam for the last 10 years. |

Marri Achamma W/o. Syamalaiah Reddy, Age - 90, Pandillapalli Post, Vetaplem Mandal, Prakasam Dist., A.P. She is from the family of shepherds. She was a victim of child marriage (married when she was five years old). Her husband passed away while she was still minor. She was never re-married and led her whole life lonely. She had no house of her own and was staying on neighbours' verandah. Some of the neighbours have approached us for her admission in the home. While enquiring about her by our committee members, we noticed that she was unable to meet her personal needs at the age of 90 years. Then we brought her to the Home and taking care of her for last 4 years. |

Kadem Kanaka Ratnam W/o. Kadem Mallikarjuna Rao, Konijeti Nagar, Challareddypelam, Vetapalem Mandal, Prakasam Dist., A.P. Kadem Kanaka Ratnam has seven daughters and her husband was a former employee of the Chirala Cooperative Spinning Mills. In order to marry off their six daughters, they sold all properties and house too. Her husband also expired in the mean while. She was left alone with her physically challenged daughter Bala Saraswathi. Kanaka Ratnam herself is badly in need of help and assistance and the physically challenged daughter is another challenge. She joined the Ashramam with her daughter in the Oldage Home and has been staying here for the last three years. |

Allaka Subba Rao S/o. Nagaraju, age - 70, Bandaru Lanka, East Godavari Dist., A.P. He is Filaria patient. He has no children and his wife also passed away. After the death of his wife Smt. Allaka Kamalamma, he joined as a server at caterers in Vijayawada and kept on working as such for almost 15 years. He joined Oldage Home, when he was unable to meet his personal needs at the age of 74 years. Now he is physically and mentally in good condition after obtaining proper treatment at the Ashramam. |

Guthi Veera Nageswara Rao S/o. Guthi Yellamandaiah, Pandillapalli Post, Vetaplem Mandal, Prakasam Dist., A.P. Guthi Veera Nageswara Rao belongs to poor weavers family. He has 4 children- 2 sons and 2 daughters. Both his sons and wife also expired, and his daughters are not in a position to take care fo him as they are married. He has attained age of eighty plus and is not able to meet his own personal needs as he was staying alone. He joined the Oldage Home and has been staying here for the last 3 years. |
